There are a number of reasons why students may leave an e-learning environment, so it is essential to communicate and offer support whenever possible.

Providing timely feedback is a key to student success in an online course.

Taking time to allow your students to get to know you, while also trying to get to know them can establish an effective rapport that can make students more engaged and more successful. 

It's super important to try to connect with e-learners and assure them of your presence as an instructor.

You want to build trust with your students, a bio bout yourself, a way to start building a student-instructor relationship. Also, coming prepared with information to lead in class discussion. Keeping the discussion board clear of clutter and managing it well. 

Even though the students are learning online, we still need to do our part as the instructor to know the material they are going over. We need to have active discussing to aid in insisting the information sticking 

Communication is so important and can be conveyed via body language, words or voice tone.   In learning how to utilize communication in each of these areas, we as professionals are able to communicate effectively and proficiently regardless of the message we are sending. 

Within the realm of e-learning, a diverse array of learner profiles emerges, each presenting unique characteristics and learning preferences. Let's delve deeper into these categories:

1. The Noisy Learners: These individuals thrive amidst bustling environments, finding stimulation and engagement in lively discussions and interactive activities. They often benefit from group collaborations and thrive on the exchange of ideas and perspectives.

2. The Quiet Learners: In contrast, quiet learners prefer a more subdued atmosphere, where they can focus deeply on absorbing information without external distractions. They excel in solitary study environments and often demonstrate strong introspective abilities, processing information internally before… >>>

Being consistent with the framework of assignments so that are used to it, rather than relearning new ways or having to follow a new plan and routine. Making sure that all modules are the same length and take the same amount if time.

From this module, I've learned that learners may exit e-learning programs prematurely due to feelings of alienation, heavy workloads, competing responsibilities, and technical issues. To reduce attrition, I plan to foster a sense of belonging by engaging learners, manage workloads effectively by breaking down content and providing support, address technical issues promptly with troubleshooting guidance, regularly check in with learners to offer support, and continuously gather feedback to improve the learning experience. These proactive measures aim to create a supportive environment that encourages learner retention.
